Race 1: Long course

On the water by 12:30PM for a 1PM race start.

Results:

Forecast Wind (Meteye): 11a.m. 17 knots; ↓14:00 9 kn; BS 5 ↓3; Fresh to Gentle Breeze. TEMP 37°

North 5° course set to avoid river traffic hence start/finish line toward Frankston. Start delayed 11 minutes to allow boats to reposition to start line.

Wind had dropped to 7-8 knots at start.  Boats some distance off on start signal with last boat crossing 33 seconds after signal

The First Triangle saw Laing round at 13:45 followed by Frodo (LM) 13:50 and Simon at 13:52. The Club Pacer only minutes behind Frodo. Wind 8-9 knots N 5°.

Windward return times were Laing 14:07, Frodo 14:23 and Simon 14:25 notifying Carrum 2 they were retiring. Wind now 6-7 knots but bearing 325° which reflects a 40° shift to the West.

The Second Triangle and finish order was Laing in Laser (101443) at 14:57.31 followed by Lloyd (53) at 15:02.42 benefiting from the wind now7-8 knots bearing 325° from the NW.

Marks/Buoys collected as all boats returned to shore.
